I was on Facebook one night just glancing through when I saw the story of this sweet family on the Murfreesboro.com page. After reading a little about them and how they had just adopted these two sweet little boys from Ethiopia, I just knew I had to work with them and give them an updated family photo! “A” and “H” were a total blast and I had so much fun getting to know them! & their big sisters were equally as awesome! It was just so amazing to see this new family of 6 and the love they had for each other! It was truly an honor to work with the Sharp Family! & their colorful wardrobe made my day! ;)

So I have had quite a few of you fellow photographers email me over the past couple of years asking about backdrop stands and I thought a blog post would be the perfect way to answer this question for several of you at one time! I’m honestly not a huge fan of the PVC pipe shindig that has been floating around the past year or so! It’s just not an easy or convenient solution when many of us have to travel to our client’s homes for sessions. So, allow me to share the perfect solution with you! The backdrop stand below is from YescomUSA. They have a little bit of everything, not just photo related equipment. Their selection is quite great and they are super affordable!

The stand arrives in this easy to carry case:

I love how well they come packaged! You can tell YescomUSA pays special attention to ensure their products arrive top notch!

I absolutely love, love, LOVE this case! It keeps everything nice and organized and separated so that it doesn’t get all scratched up!

And here is the coolest part! This backdrop stand is totally customizable for your needs! It adjusts from 5ft in width all the way to 10ft! Most stands I have found are automatically 10ft-ish. This makes it difficult when you have a small space to work in! I LOVE that I can make this one 5ft, which is perfect for all my newborn/baby sessions! Pictured below is my stand at 5ft width and my 3×5 flokati attached just to give you an idea of proportions!Photography Backdrop Stand

So there you have it! An awesome, portable backdrop stand! In case you missed the link to check it out, here ya go again: http://www.yescomusa.com/10-x_8-1-5-_Adjustable_Photography_Background_Support.html

I hope this helps you in your backdrop stand search! :)

Happy Shooting,

Desirae

I absolutely love that so many mommies booked these sessions and now have photos with their children that they can cherish forever!! These will definitely become a yearly occurrence! Thanks so much to all of you who came out for these fun minis! =)

These two cuties were so much fun to work with! & I love nothing more than to see two siblings love each other so much! Melts my heart! <3

I recently ventured outside with my little men to take their yearly photos. You would seriously think that I would take these boy’s pictures ALL the time. NEGATIVE! Once a year is usually the norm! Because these children are mine, they do NOT want to cooperate at all and it is super stressful! lol. Kind of funny how I can take photos of everyone else’s kids all day long, but when it comes to my own it’s like pure chaos! So I got brave about two weeks ago and decided to give it a go! Now, when we first went out…I had zero intention of trying to capture them together that day. Normally, it’s a major fight trying to get them in a photo together! But much to my surprise they were all for it that day! Which made this mama SUPER happy! & it just so happens I had them coordinating and didn’t even realize it! My littlest guy didn’t really want to take any by himself, but I did capture on of him that I like! I plan to take him out again soon by himself and try again! The oldest on the other hand was hamming it up! I honestly can’t believe how well this little impromptu session went! Needless to say, the 16x20s in my living room grouping are getting replaced! :)
