A couple of days ago I mentioned on my fan page how much I loved “batch processing” when editing my sessions. Much to my surprise, there were quite a few fellow photographers who either 1.) didn’t know what I was talking about, or 2.) just didn’t know how to batch process! So this tutorial is for them! No photographer should go without knowing how to batch process! It is a huge time saver!

Please note, this is a tutorial for Photoshop CS versions! I’m not sure if you are able to do this in PSE or not! =)

STEP 1 { Select multiple files that you would like to “batch process”. I normally try to choose photos that are from the same set up and very similar in exposure/color. This will make the process a little easier for you!}

STEP 2 {Select the action that you would like to run! 9/10 times I am running one of my handy dandy actions from the DTP Practical Collection!}

STEP 3 {Go to file->Automate->Batch}

STEP 4 {These are the settings that I prefer to use. You may want to play around with these if you want to close out your photos etc. I have this set up to leave all of my photos open so that I can adjust each action if I need to! Also, I tend to run more than one action on each photo {for example-Lighten up!, Pop it!, and Defog}, so this allows me to do that more easily!}

STEP 5 {Make the adjustments that you would like to make to each photo and then flatten! Make sure you have flattened all of your images before you move on to the next action! }

I hope this quick tutorial has helped everyone learn to batch process! Please leave comments so that I know if this was helpful or not! I would also love suggestions for the NEXT tutorial you would like to see!

Happy Editing!
